Pioneer SPH-DA120 installation |
|
Hi all,
I am looking to replace the factory standard (CD-400) stereo on my Discovery 3 GS with a Pioneer SPH-DA120 (http://bit.ly/1XCC9l3).
Has anyone fitted one before? Will it fit? And, will I need any extra parts?
Thanks

Ok had a look at the unit and it looks good and would fit with a facsia kit and cage - ISO connection so adaptor lead required and a few other tweaks .
Looks a go

Ordered the following parts:
Fascia and ISO adaptor: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161227641633
Antenna adaptor: http://incartec.co.uk/Pages/Product.aspx?P=2838
Spent the afternoon installing it today and... no power.
There's a left over connector running from the LR, with red and black wiring etc, which I presume is some sort of power connector, but there's nothing to plug that in to.
I have ordered a new ISO adaptor in case it is that that's failing, but any other suggestions would be useful.

Reason for no power is that ISO requires a per many live to work which is not provided on the adaptors out there .... It can be a permanent or switched live . Too late in the day to do pics of mine , I bridged on the wiring if I recall correct to sort this shortcoming . Can come back to you on it tomorrow and hopefully provide a pic or two to show it in place

The iso plug you got has a perm feed from the D3 loom swap the yellow and red around on the pioneer loom and feed the red with a ign switch from the cig lighter socket and as always check before pluging into head unit hope this helps buddy

Sadly not.
I've tried, realised I have no idea what I'm doing, and have now booked it in for an installation.
Pictures to follow after Christmas.
Thanks for all your help though.

I have exactly the same work on my schedule....
I have just ordered these things:
- Pioneer SPH-DA120
- Pioneer 2 DIN Kit 12.301260-02
- Pioneer Adapter CA-R-PI.186 (steering wheel radio buttons)
- A-I-V antenna adapter
- Wiring adapter from Connects2 (RL3 >> ISO)
My LR3 has no PDC, but the pre-owner installed a camera (and an external monitor). I want to use this camera with my new radio - the external monitor will be removed).
Of course, I will make some pictures...
