Disco 3 HSE - Parking Sensors Playing Up

Hi All,
I have just joined this site, as I am a proud Disco 3 HSE owner for the first time since last September. What a great vehicle this is, a perfect blend of practicality and luxury.
Having a problem with the parking sensors, which only work intermittently now, and usually not. The orange light on the switch on the dashboard does not stay constant, but flashes when I put the car in reverse or manually press it.
Local 4 x specialist has had the car in twice now, and last time cleared all the computer errors and tested it, but the problem returned soon after the car came back.
Anyone have any ideas what is wrong and how to fix it ?
Thanks,
Martin

A new sensor required, or damaged wiring loom, or (less likely) a faulty module.

What fault codes were cleared, that could identify which sensor is faulty.

But, easiest thing to do yourself is:

Park on level, park brake off, put in reverse and turn ignition to position where all lights on dash are on, just before cranking engine.
Get out and listen very closely to each sensor they should make a ticking/clicking sound if they are working.

Thumbs Up

The flashing light means there is a fault, likely either a sensor or the wiring loom is chaffed / broken wire.

I'd bet on the latter.

Thumbs Up
