Was driving to work the other day and I thought that's odd radio not on looked across and it was but it only display the frequency not radio 2 as normal tried to turn it up and volume buttons on wheel do nothing as does the radio knob
Any way left it at that and 5 minutes later it came back on and worked as normal
Set off home from work that night and no sound again and never had since
I have done a hard reset this morning and I get the station name displayed now but the volume does not work and I cannot alter bass treble etc although I can go through the menus
Searched the site and most similar problems everything worked just no sound and turned out to be the amp
Has anyone had the problem like this and what was the cure Club original turbo

I had this after the mate helping me put the body back on touched the battery terminals the wrong way so it's now on a different fuse and works fine -------------------------------------------------
if you cant hold on dont let go , it ill come in handy for something even if you never use it.

I had a similar issue which happened occasionally, and turned out to be an issue with the clock spring.
The controls on the wheel work off a resistive network, and any variance to this generates odd messages to the head unit.
It was really odd in my case, as I've never been able to get the wheel buttons to talk to the head unit under normal circumstances despite new components all the way through the system, but swapping to a new clock spring did stop it randomly muting the radio.

Sorry to drag up an old post but I think I have the same issue. No volume and the rotary knob will turn the unit on and off but will not adjust volume or bass trebble etc. There is also no volume display on the screen. Should I be looking for a replacement amp.

Thanks Nasher, I've had the head unit looked at so I guessed it could be the amp but I had ruled out the clock spring as all the other buttons on the steering wheel work except volume. Seems I shouldn't have.
