I’m just coming up to the 112k service on my 2011 D4… it’s the dreaded big one with the belts change. Funny thing is, I got a quote from one LR dealer saying it could be a 3 day job (12 hours in the book) and £1962.42. So obviously I got a 2nd quote from another LR Dealer … now it’s just a 6 hour job (no need to take the body off), probably do it in one day and just £1250.00
They both said it was a bit more fiddly than the D3.
So it’s quite a saving in time and money between two official LR dealers… any reason why I shouldn’t be overjoyed at saving £712.42 and what toys should I buy with the money saved?

Recently had a quote for belts only £850 and belts plus flexible brakepipes and fluid £1250. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Belts only for £850 sounds similar - that would make the service element £400 for mine.
I just don't know why there should be such a difference between LR dealers... or what I'm missing?
(they both have pretty receptionists, chairs, coffee and custard creams)

I don't know if there is a standard pricing structure for the dealers, but I know certain chains are more expensive and less likely to discount. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

I had both cam belts done recently on my D3, £508.97 including the venom added tax. Obviously this was at a LR specialist indie, not at dealership!

That's why I'll be doing them myself LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
