How clever is my MY16 D4
Not a lover of the latest Eco stop start feature, but I think I'm going mad??
I'm sure that on a number of occasions, when I've arrived home, not only does the Eco function stop the engine as I come to a halt in my driveway, it also puts it in Park and the gear knob disappears like it knows I've arrived home.
Have I lost it........ 11 RR 4.4 TDV8

Thank god for that - thought I was cracking up - I have had it happen a few times including ignition switching off

They all do that I think it's just a combination of stopping and taking your seatbelt off, it puts it into park and turns the engine off Cheers Ian

Well I never !
Second D4 and never picked up on that one before
I noticed the other day that if you have it in D and press Stop with your foot on the break, it'll go into park automatically. Feels strange doing it, not sure if it's actually *in* park when it says it is, so I've not done it since, but nice feature if it is actually in park.
I read recently that you shouldn't ever put an auto into park without putting the parking break on, as the vehicle uses the gears to stop itself from rolling rather than the parking break. Not sure if that holds true for LRs as it would seem they're way too clever for that!2016MY Discovery 4 Commercial , 3.0 SDV6 Auto, Santorini Black, side-steps, 510s.

I very rarely put it into park when I'm stopping and getting out the car, just push the button and let the car do it, I do use the handbrake though Cheers Ian
