TurboChip mucking me about |
|
All
TurboChip seem to be having some difficulties meeting their obligations on the service front, I would advise you proceed with caution if you are considering getting a turbochip map.
I "lost" my turbochip map when my dealer did a full update of the car's systems in the middle of July. No problem, I thought, I have the install code, I'll phone TurboChip and get the remap re-installed.
I phoned Nick Heyes on Mon 6th August to arrange a date. Nick took all my details, and then said because Chris John orginally did my install, I'm probably not covered. However Chris was still a director of TurboChip at the time, so not sure how they can shrug their responsibility like that. He then gave me some b*llshit about needing to speak to his suppliers to see if they can do it "as a favour".
Nick is now avoiding my calls.
The fact that Nick and Chris were having some sort of internal dispute at the time I handed over £500 odd quid to them should not really affect my rights as a customer - should it??
Not going to let it lie. If I don't hear a positive result by the end of the week I will probably start a small claims action against them to recover a large portion of the initial cost. Dead easy to do and fixed fee now. What is 14 month's use worth? Is £100 reasonable?
So the moral of the story is: BE WARNED!! If Chris John (TC) installed your turbochip, you are probably going to get f*cked over by TurboChip as well if you need a re-install.
Do any of the other tuning companies offer extra discounts to "switchers"?

If it's a TurboChip, then it's a TurboChip regardless of who actually installed it surely? UK Wide installer coverage they state on the web don't they?
That's the impression that I understood so I think you would have a fair claim. I would have thought total re-compense of the purchase price.
Shame it has to come to things like this, but good luck. Bodsys Brake Bible

Did you get a receipt from Turbochip, or was it cash to Chris with no documentation? IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver

Regardless of their internal staff problems you bought from and assume were invoiced by TurboChip - not a company called Chris John.

No, paid by cheque, got the install code there and then, and a receipt in the post a few days later with the install code also written on it.
However, due to house move etc and half my stuff still being in storage, I can't locate it at the moment.
Nick from TurboChip is asking me stuff like "what car was Chris driving when he came to you?". WTF? How do I know or care what car he drove!!!
As I said TurboChip seem to be in some sort of turmoil and not fully resolved their Chris John problem, but I don't really care. I just want the service I paid for.

As Turbo Chip are sponsors of this site, I think sponsorship advertisements should be suspended pending some official statement and or adequate response to Joness7's issue!
We don't want other D3 owners seeing the advert and parting with hard earned cash until this is resolved.

If a car is upgraded using an Autologic tool then as long as the receipt code is issued there should be no issues.

OK the problem has been resolved. On behalf of Nick who has just phoned me.
Too many are too keen to shoot from the hip without waiting.
Ian at Diagnos is away and Nick could not get an answer to his query over the last 3 days.
The original poster did not have anything other than a code. He was unable to produce any proof of purchase.
If the code did not match the vehicle then any attempt to remap would have been futile.
As for CJ, no comment.
Nick has travelled from Carlisle to London throughout the postings on the subject, without the means to reply on this forum. He has now remapped the vehicle in question at no cost.
I trust that some of those who posted will have the good grace to leave alone.
