Where best to buy ? Am I able to source a a secondhand set ? Or am I just as well buying new.

Are they hard to put on ?

answers:

from here if someone selling a set (I may be soon - genuine LR short ones), otherwise fleebay is as good as anywhere

secondhand is fine - dont have to be new

dead easy to fit (in fact one of the ebay sellers even has a video of how to do it)

Al Volvo XC90 B5 Plus Dark
Gone - MY18 D5 HSE - Corris on 22's with Black Pack
Now gone - MY16 D4 SE Tech, Loire Blue, Almond Leather, Privacy, plus some other goodies.
Old - MY12 D4 SDV6 XS Auto - Ipanema Sand with Almond Leather - Plus other niceties, and D4.com sticker
Older - D3 TDV6 XS Auto - Lugano Teal with Almond Leather, 20" Stormers, Shiny Tailpipes, DVD/TV - and obligatory D3 sticker
Ancient - D3 TDV6 S - Tonga with Ebony, 20" Stormers, satnav & DVD

Fitting either is a doddle though

Ok so I have found some on eBay ? But are the non genuine ok ? Do the fit right ? And will they do the job ? ( occasional roof box )

yep - just ordered mine from these guys (not an endorsement, just in case I'm breaking any rules)

2nd set I've had from this ebay seller (set on old D4, and now set for new one) - work fine, dont look any different from OEM ones

dont forget, to fit your roofbox, you'll need the cross bars as well. Have you already got the short rails fitted. If you have, you dont need the long rails, just the cross bars to fit your roof box

OK, well my set arrived today - and the fitting kit is incorrect - not enough screws, and no spacers in the kit
