Getting back to full auto from command shift

Just picked up my new D4 and tried using the paddle shift whilst in drive. Couldn't figure how to revert back to full auto . It seemed to revert back itself eventually?
Should it only be used in sport mode ?

Yep, just hold the + for a few seconds and it will revert to D.

Simples.

Or do not change gear manually for a period of time, think about 20 seconds and it will revert back to auto

Also don't try looking for the setting to make the paddles only work in S mode as apparently 'our market' didn't get this option, despite it being in the user manual. Evil or Very Mad Grumble, rant, grumble, grumble.... pointless paddle option.

My wife complains about the paddles very time she drives it, just as well I'm getting her a new Zoe EV so she'll stop using my car. Whistle
