Green Laning in Sussex / Surrey / Hampshire

Dear All

Can anyone recommend any green lanes in the Sussex, Surrey or Hampshire area?

Just looking for anything off the beaten track to explore.

I am based in Arundel but any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Richard

Hi Richard
Not many places left these days in our neck of the woods. For a bit of fun I drive up Chalk pit Lane from Lavant to the Trundle (Goodwood) and at the top there are a few hiilly bits to play on. Thumbs Up

There are a few still open around the Devils punch bowl in Hindhead, though the more extreme ones are closed.

Also a few in Liphook/Haslemere. And there is water lane in Alton if you are feeling brave?

Cheers, Tom

There are a few between Ash Green and Wood Street Village in Surrey. Nice one at the east end but a "bit" scratchy (put it this way I did it in the Defender haven't risked it in the FFRR). Also a couple down towards Tilford and Frensham.

Another nice one down parallel to the A3 just south of the M25. Haven't yet taken the FF down that one (would like a second vehicle just in case so if you fancy it...)

I have done the One parallel to the A3, non damaging and wide. Just a muddy water section halfway down with deepish ruts. Will you be going full fat or defender? Whistle

Done it many a time in the 110 but haven't quite justified (read plucked up the courage) to do it in the Full Fat...

I'd be up for it if there was another vehicle. Had a bit of a heart stopping moment once when it unearthed a substantial log in that "puddle" after some heavy rain. Little bit of shunting and it got through. But it gained a bit more respect.

I might for fun see how far I can get up my grandparents land on the bank holiday. Rolling Eyes Given the only things to have not got stuck there were a Chinook and myself on foot might be entertaining...

Hi, first time poster - getting my D3 tomorrow Smile

With regards to Water Lane in Alton, I had watched many vids of it but not driven down until yesterday (had a walk up and down) as it's the first day it's been opened since repairs. Very easily passable in my standard Jimny (bfg muds on only), but rather slimline towards the middle perhaps for a disco...? Perhaps I'm just a bit of a chicken!

There are plenty of green lanes in Hampshire towards Petersfield and into the sticks over in Froxfield.

Some advice....don't stray off any green lane's legal track onto "side bits".... It's illegal and irresponsible leading to lane closures. Cheers guys Thumbs Up
