Oil Leak, Doesn't look good
The wife phoned on Friday night 2 minutes down the road saying the car was making a noise.
I went down and summised it was a stone in the brakes. Whilst under the car I noticed oil on the steel undertray.
I got underneath it today and removed the guard/tray. The oil looks to be from one of the worst places, between the gearbox and engine block.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
There also seems to be a hose tee leaking next to the starter motor.

It would appear your turbo has blown it's oil seals.Vehicles

I recently took out warranty direct cover. Service was by Lloyd Land Rover at Kelso.
I'm not convinced the oil below the bellhousing is from the turbo so I'm expecting another repair being needed.

What does the timing belt service cost when the body is already off?

I asked about service as wondered if it was possible they unscrewed the filter housing before the oil had drained and this spilt some inbewtween heads which in turn ran down the back of the engine giving rise to what looks like oil from between engine and gearboxMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Service was in March. And yes I checked the oil filter and it's wet all around with dirty engine oil so it might explain the other leak.

Might be as trivial as broken oil housing O ring seal like it was on mine.... I lost over 2l of oil by the time I have spotted the leak and the V shaped cavity between heads was full of oil
I managed to suck out 1.5l with plastic tube attached to syringe after oil filter was replaced
the engine was filthy on both sides as well as there were splashes on its front dropping all the way down to steering rack
good luck I hope it is nothing serious

Thats it away to the local LR garage. I hope to god Warranty direct will cover the repair. No reason why not as the turbo has clearly failed (or is about to).
I'm getting ahead of myself here, I know but.....
Let's say the body is coming off and assuming I'll keep the car another 2-3 years what other jobs could be done?
I know of:
Brake pipes.
Exhaust crossover pipe.
Timing Belts.
Does anyone have an idea of cost on these? I'll be asking to look at the car when the body is off. I'd like to waxoyl the chassis myself but I very much doubt a Land Rover garage will let me work on my own car on their premises.

Could do with a definitive list of jobs to do when body off, I think Del compiled a list of jobs he did last time his body was lifted.
