Starting issues

Hi all

A little advice from the gurus if you please Very Happy
I have a Disco 3, that for a while now two months or so if left standing for two hours or more , struggles to start, the engine turns fast and normally, but just doesnt take, once started "around 10 secs later" the car runs perfectly , plenty pull no judders and around 11.5 L/100 . If i turn off and restart its instantaneous.
I live in SA and even on a day 34 Deg Centigrade with the car standing in Sun , same issue. It is completely reproducible.
The mechanic is saying i need to change my injectors , however my limited logic is thinking if the injectors were fouled surely the car would run badly. Im not certain , but am thinking that this started happening around the time that the mechanic blanked my EGI off.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as right now im looking at 30 odd K to replace injectors that might not even solve the issue.
Kind regards

Wade

The injectors may be leaking. So no fuel to start until pumped through.

Maybe worth doing an injector leak off test.

Do a forum search for leak off test and whilst you are at it EGR blanking too. There's plenty of advice concerning both Thumbs Up

Low pressure (in tank) fuel pump or fuel filter needs changing, check if you have a flow of fuel when the engine is switched on for the first 20 seconds at the schrader valve that is situated at the back top of engine, take the engine top insulation cover off to access.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
