Longer rear tailgate struts

Has anyone fitted slightly longer tailgate struts?
Im far from tall but find I have to keep ducking, the struts are at full travel, I smack my head enough as it is!
I reckon 25/35mm will be enough, there is spare capacity for this looking at the unwiped portion of the chrome rod.

Im 6'5" , are your struts holding the tailgate at full height, may be you need stronger rather than longer Thumbs Up

Or does your suspension need recalibrating?

I thought that was what that height thing on the dashboard was for - so you can make the tailgate higher if you're tall or lower the boot floor if you're shorter?

Replaced mine on the D3, slightly longer than OEMs. You will need to measure the closed distance on the tailgate to find the max length. Got mine from SuperCrap Auto, so you should be able to find some at Halfrauds.

Doh doh its so obvious when someone else says it, every time I park I drop the suspension into access mode, hence reason tailgate appears to low Embarassed
I will now go and sit in the corner!

Thanks for all the replies.

When I drive on my own I don't hit my head on tailgate but when the wife and kids are with me I always drop to access for them and I'm constantly cursing when i hit my head Censored

Rolling with laughter and there's me stating a serious point after I found my suspension has settled by 25mm over the years. Only yesterday played with the IID and got it sorted all round Mr. Green
