Replacement Key Fob question
Hi,
I have had a quick search...
we have a key where the buttons now have holes in them. We have a 'new' key that we couldn't program.
My question - is it just a case of splitting the two cases and then putting the innards of the working key in the shell of the new unworking key? how easy is this to actually do? I am not the best when it comes to fiddly things..cheers

Does require a bit of fiddling to cut open the old case, and the new case supergluing together.
Ideally the battery wants changing whilst it is apart, requires a soldering iron.
I've just done 1 key fob, perhaps I will remember to take photos next time 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

What do you mean by 'new' and why couldn't you program it?

we got 2 new blanks , but for some reason one wouldn't program. So I was wondering if i could open that one and use the case on the split working key.cheers

Where did you buy it from?
If it doesn't work, send it back for a refund or replacement for one that does work/can be programmed.

The buttons on my case are looking a little worn.. They're not split yet so a cheep 99p case off the bay has fixed my problems for now.. Added bonus is I rarely can't find my key
I chose that colour because I genuinely do miss place my key often.
