Disco 4 rear brake pad replacement - very silly question
Hi,
Having never replaced the brake pads on a car before, I decided now would be a good time to start (and the garage wanted to charge a fortune for it).
I have looked at the Bodsys guide but couldn't see any mention of the electronic parking brake when changing the rear pads.
Would I be correct in assuming you leave the car in park, but leave the epb off?
Thanks in advance

Are you just changing the pads?

Yes - just the pads, not the disks.

Then the EPB can be ignored.

The EPB uses brake shoes inside the integral drum. It does not use the pads so as above ignore it.Stew,

Thanks for all the info.
How easy should the brake calliper swing up (as described on page 15 on Bodsy's guide) after the bottom bolt has been removed and the top one loosened?
I attempted this today and it didn't seem to want to move - although I didn't want to use too much force.

Pads are probably sticking a bit, put a screwdriver in to free them off a bit then lever up the bottom of the caliper
