Just wondering if anyone has had the oil/sump change done over here, and if so, where they found was best to get the oil from and which of the recommended types they used and how much?
Got the sump from the UK along with a heap of stuff for my Defender, but they wouldn't ship oil, and the local specialist I'll probably use to do the job has quoted a scary cost for a make I've ever heard of!!
Thanks - Jeff K -

ZF is the cheapest place but you have to buy it in 20 litre drums. Did you get a metal sump kit - local prices are pretty good - again from ZF.

Your local favorite Land Rover mechanic will replace the sump with a metal one modify the filter and refill it with oil. The general opinion is a 50000 kls drain period. The new Dexron 6 spec will supersede the ZF REQUIREMENT.

Fuchs do an ATF to suit. Recent reports of Nulon are also good. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

That is the wrong spec ATF for the ZF gearbox.
FWIW, I got mine from Repco - at $31/litre, with a NRMA discount. You need 6 one litre bottles for each change after fitting a steel pan and filter from ZF. I found it takes 5.5 litres. Best to then do another change (6 more litres) after a thousand km.
