Whats the difference between Disco 3 and RRS bushes |
|
Could anyone tell me what the difference is between Disco 3 and RRS front lower wishbone bushes?
I recently bought the front and rear bushes to do my Disco 3 but it was such a difficult job seized bolts etc. My son and myself found it easier to cut the bolts and fit a new arm with new fitting kit. We decided to refurbish the old arm (what a struggle getting the bushes out without damaging the arm) with the bushes I had, and put it on his RRS 05 plate. I have found that the part numbers are all different, but would the bushes we have (for a Disco 3)fit a RRS or are the RRS bushes a different size or just more robust. I have bought a second arm/wishbone and kit to fit to my Disco 3 this week 07/09/2015 and obtain another set of bushes to refurbish the second arm/wishbone to fit at a later date to his RRS. There does not seem to be any difference in the dimensions or are they totally different would it be better to discard the bushes I have, and buy four RRS bushes?

Les,
As far as I know the arms are identical but one bushing on the RRS is slightly stronger than the Disco variant.
Others will be along shortly who have a lot more knowledge than I do Discovery3 TDV6 GS

Thanks for the quick reply CONMAN 69 I suspect the hydrobush to the rear of the wishbone is more robust.
