Hand Brake

Hi. I have a problem with my Hand Brake When the engine is running and in gear (drive) the hand Brake works ok.
If you switch the engins off and put in park the system seems to squeal. I need to restart the car for this to clear its self. Having to us the park mode all the time.
Any help or suggestions would be very much appeciated.

How good is your battery? Could be that without thw engine running theres not enough current to operate the actuator properly causing it misbehave.

Try it with the engine off but jump leads from your D3 battery to either a spare battery or another cars battery. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

The battery is about 9 months old and is a 900 amp heavy duty battery.

Sounds like you need to strip the EPB shoes off and check them for seizures, and rebuild + adjust Thumbs Up My D3 Build Thread
