Transmission fault (p0741)

Hi all ,Just got back from sunny Cornwall however I have reason for concern . On the way down about 200 miles into the journey ,accelerating uphill in auto around 2000rpm ( tintent on the back ) suddenly got a jolt through the car and transmission failure . Pulled over cycled the ignition all cleared and carried on . Got to looe pitched up and had a look at the fault codes , guess what nothing . So thought about it for a couple of days took a stab in the dark and purchased a brake light switch and replaced it . Car was ok all week until today . Just got to Exeter and it did it again same conditions same symptoms . Pulled over checked codes ,nothing . Cycled the ign and set of again about 25 miles on its back again ,pulled over checked again and p0741 torque converter clutch solenoid stuck . Cleared it cycled the ign and of we went .this time I kept it just under 2000rpm in 6th and it didn't return . The car has been previously mega flushed and the good doctors tranny fluid added .
Has anyone experienced similar and come to a conclusion Question

yep, the wife's 56 d3 done it and started vibrating while driving also revs going up n down. It had a mega flush about 10 months previous with added Dr tranny. Now we buy any car has the problem.
Was told it would be a new TC. ££££.
Not worth spending nearly £2k on a £6.5k car, so its gone. tbo glad to see the back of the thing. The most unreliable car we have owned.

How many miles has yours covered ?

Hi it's done just over 100k . I have suspected something has been coming for a few weeks is just hasn't felt the same Big Cry Just been chatting with swmbo and she reminded me we still have a warranty on it so I think I might explore this option as well as others . Just going to check the paperwork and see what's covered . The car has had everything done as far as maintenance is concerned and preventative maintenance .

bit of an update , the fault has now manifested into something familiar .
the car had not moved since Saturday. I used it last night and there is a distinctive judder . so to conclude I suspect like so many others the torque converter has come to the end of its service life . Big Cry
