General Grabber AT2 or Pirelli ATR or ?
Hi, I need to change my tires, but in my size there is not a lot of choise. I have the GG AT2, but I believe the Pirelli ATR is a better choise ? Has anyone any experience with this tyre ? Or is there a other brand that is good/better ? I have the 255/60/18 on my disco 3 2006. Thx, Stefaan

Lrbutch obvious question but what do you aim to do with the tyres apart from road use? That info would help with suggestions. ATRs great on all but heavy mud.

I'm on my first set of ATs and wouldn't touch them again, only bought as ATRs weren't available in 19s at the time.
Duratracs are the other option people seem to like, but if no deep mud the ATRs every day for meJoined the BMWX5 45e group

I use the car for 90% on road. Sometimes, only 4-5 times in a year, we do a 4x4 day trip in grass, gravel and light mud. Greenlaning etc, nothing heavy as it is my daily driver. Once a year in snow for the winter holliday. I drive 15k in a year.
In test, i read that the ATR is not as good on grass, and that the milage is poor ? Then others say just the oposite...

ATR mileage I'd the same as road tyres, no way can it be described as poor. Re wet grass, that's the D3's nemesis on any tyre, starting off 3 tonnes on slick grass will always be interesting.

I use ATR's for road use - get around 30-35K out of a set. BGF MT for offroading on 17's
I wish you could get BFG AT's in 18's as they look pretty aggressive and would probably covery everything I want out of a tyre for most of what I do. But saying that the ATR's do that now- but don't look as 8)Mark.
