Tracker
I have a 2014 Discovery 4 SE Tech and am thinking of getting a tracker for it. Does anyone have any ideas as to which one they would recommend.

Not sure how fancy you want to go, but you can get some fairly cheap units from the bay of dreams that work off a sim card. They are hard wired somewhere hidden and have a battery backup in case of removal of the car battery.
They can be set to alert you via text when there is movement and can track realtime also.
But if you are looking for a more official insurance approved solution I'm not sure.

Tracker
Thanks for that. Do you have any particular type you could recommend. I don't want to spend a fortune.

CanTrack is probably the best kit out there at present...battery powered, sealed for life which means you can hide it anywhere including underneath the vehicle...
Excellent bit of kit! Also cheap to run yearly with low subscriptions and free assisted recovery! Most of the main construction industry are now starting to use them!

If you are using that Tracker purely as an asset management tool then they are fine...if you are using it as an after theft recovery device then i’m afraid it’s the first thing that gets pulled out and chucked away..
I run a company fleet and hired in vehicles that use those type of trackers are the ones we never recover...particularly on commercial vehicles....

I agree , its just for checking where the vehicle is out and about and was useful last week when the missus was lost and I was able to assist her using the live tracking facility.
There are other magnetic/hard wired trackers on the site .
Have other security systems fitted .

I've got a Metasat system
Quite expensive to purchase and costs about £80 a year to run
The plus side though it is excellent. Can get set to text when the alarm goes off with an exact grid reference and approximate address if there is one, valet mode so the car will send a text if a pre set speed is exceeded with an exact location of there it happened and if the car is pinched you can text the car and it'll die
There's even an option to totally kill the car so that it won't start at all, even with the key2013 Discovery 4 HSE Lux | 2001 Defender 90 TD5 | 2007 Prodrive RB320
