Door Mirrors - Can I drill them |
|
I am fitting some small brackets to my mirrors for towing. I am hoping that for a semi-permanent fixing I can drill through the bottom of the mirror housing on the flat bit that is the base of the main mirror body and bolt the brackets through those holes....how much, if any tolerance is there ? D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

I wouldn't tow with the mirrors - they'll never take it!

If i'd seen this 2 hours earlier I would have done that joke and people would have thought I was the funny one
I must work less and about on the internet more. What if the "Hokey Cokey" really is what it's all about?

Hi n1cktdv6,
On my D3 (2005 model) it was easy to remove the mirror glass by placing the fingers beneath the bottom of the glass housing and pulling towards you. It just unclips. Then all you need to do is remove the connector for the mirror heating. Then you can readily see the best places, if any, to drill.
Best of Luck,
Peter
