So what's the chances of the D4 coming with DAB?
I know there's a bit of a drive on in Europe to make DAB the standard in new vehicles so they can turn off the old analogue stuff soonerThe End

Drove a Jag XF with it recently. When it worked it was great. Trouble is there was more dead spots than live ones. Most annoying when listening to Planet Rock

Just went on the dab site and it seems that dab may be a no goer
where is what they say about one transmitter
In addition, the transmitter planned for Riddings Hill (Area around Dumfries) has been delayed. We are not currently able to give any more information about the delays affecting the site and cannot rule out the possibility that it may never be switched on.
and another area
The transmitter which had been planned for Maidenhead (Maidenhead and the surrounding area) is now not expected to be switched on in the foreseeable future. We apologise for this change to our plans
yet they claim that thay have 90% coverage Practice safe eating - always use condiments.

We have actually already been doing some work on the software for the D4.
So far we have done the CCF edit and added all the flash files for the D4 to our Flash file loader application, which will be launched with our next software upgrade i am currently testing, Just the D3 bits obviously
To do this we had to review what various ECU's can be fitted in the D4 and i don't recall DAB specifically, but i was interested in a unit they call High definition Radio ???
There is also a control unit for the multi directional camera system, and a few other interesting items.
There is a separate app for uploading the software to the Hard Drive unit via USB, i took a piccy of it which i put somewhere, try to look it out if you are interested. Don't recall the file sizes for that but those for the touch screen have gone up from 3 or 4 meg to 11 meg which must be due to all the snazzy graphics.
With CCF edit the D4 has a block identical to that of the D3 we already cover, but there is also now a new EUCD block of data that is even bigger and more detailed.
Ah yes, EUCD, sorry i forget / loose myself a bit
like the existing D3 and sport share the same CCF block, and the T5 Platform, it seems that all cars based on the EUCD platform also have a common EUCD data / configuration / settings block.
Hang on i forgot i have a link as i put a copy of one of our early de crypts of the block on line for someone a while ago
here is the D3/D4 and Sport CCF block of data / settings

and here is the new EUCD block i mentioned

For some reason the block currently has most other model options remmed out,
but for us its really just a poke about at the moment, for interests sake.
We like to have a heads up on whats coming up
Anyway hope its of some interest or use.
Actually if someone can give me a valid vin for a D4 it would help us a bit.

Judging from the offers I have received so far from LR dealers, DAB is just not available as an option!

DAB Reception around the countryside (East Anglia to Midlands) is about 95% with Pure Highway and external aerial. Guess the real D4 problem will be LR's design need to integrate the aerial with glasswork or hide it in some other way to avoid spoiling the vehicle profile. A seriously good mod would be the ability to plug an external aerial into the supplied aerial wiring.I'm on a whisky diet. I've lost three days already.

Now here's a bit of thread resurrection!
If any of you D4 owners have been following the D4 sat nav in a D3 thread, you will see that some of us have fitted a 2010 unit in a D3, an to all intents and purposes it works. Now I have connected a DAB module into the MOST bus, and configured the CCF for DAB. However although there is a DAB button on the display, it doesn't work. It's not the DAB unit, as I have tried two of them. As BBS have both the D4 and D3 CCF file I was wondering if it would be possible to add an option in Genesis to enable DAB on a D3? I'm sure it's just a question of setting the right bits somewhere in the CCF file - but it's not something I can do!.
