It does a bizarre thing sometimes on IOS devices....I can read the PM that has been sent to me on my iPhone but it still shows it unread when I switch to my iPad.....therefore I may have received the PM and dealt with it but it will still remain outstanding in the persons outbox until I clear it properly on my iPad.
So they may have read it and just not responded!
