Front Right Ride Height sensor
Hi all,
Recently had the body off, put in a new turbo, new cross over pipe, had a head off to remove stuck glow plugs, replaced all glow plugs, replaced all rear suspension, fitted new prop shaft, cleaned and shultzed etc etc...
All back together and working tickety boo, except the front right height sensor has an issue...
On BT Gap IID it tells me the sensor voltage is 0.225 (goes to 0.425 when unplugged). Supply voltage is 4.93
All the other sensors work fine. I wondered if anyone knows which of the loom plugs deals with this as it worked OK before taking everything to pieces... I.e is it the ones in the local wheel arch, or somewhere in engine bay?
Or could it coincidentally be the sensor that's died? Seems unlikely!
Its a 54 plate 2.7

I'm wondering if I'm right in thinking that randomly that connector is in the opposite front wheel arch (n/s)? Mine being an early one the connectors aren't behind the lights I don't think?

Supply voltage is correct, no harm to check the earth side but it it's possibly a duff sensor. (Fault code?) The n/s/f wheel arch and the n/s/r chassis rail are where the main terminal connections are located.
However, if you open them you will need to recalibrate susp height, so start at connection to the faulty sensor first. yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Great, thanks for that, I shall pull the front n/s liner back out and have another look in there. I suspect it must be that as the fault wasn’t there until I disconnected the loom to lift the body. Now this fault is present on reassembly.
These things fight to the bitter end eh?!

Thanks again for all the help, just a quick post to say I found the fault for the O/S/F sensor in the N/S/F wheel arch loom, near where it forks for the connectors. In fact 3 wires looked pretty ropey.
I cut those three back as far as I could access, then used some multicore solder to clean up the remaining oxidation on the copper. Then slid some heatshrink on before soldering in some new lengths.
Put it all back together and the voltage on that sensor came back up around 2 volts and responds to movement again
