Rattles, squeeks, creaks and other noises
Maybe it would be a good idea for members to post if they find and cure any of the above annoyances. In a car that is so quiet to drive, any sort of rattle is paticularly annoying.
The car seems very well put together in general.
Mine has a tiny squeek in the right hand door post, and I have a rattle in the rear seat area. The rear seat rattle seems to go away if I fold and then unfold the left rear seat. It returns after a while though. Not sure what it is yet.

I have the same problem with my right rear seat, if it is in the normal seat position it rattles but if I drive it in the up position to get into the rear rear seats it doesn't make a peep. This only started after the last trip to dealer to fix my amber break light which is still not fixed and the dealer has given up returning my calls, probably hoping I'll go away. I did get the registration plate fixed though. It is now screwed on.

Didn't realise BN that there were D3 models in the UK built in March 2004. Does it differ very much from the version that went on sale in October? Is it left hand drive? Coffeecup

No it is one of Land Rovers own and by the looks of it a development car. Boy does it rattle inside and the road noise is not good either. It does have an interesting problem I have found this morning. If I unlock the car and open the passenger door first, the drivers seat moves backwards

I've got the same rear seat rattle/noise in mine and I'm in Texas, so the problem spans the Atlantic.

I had the same rattle, drove myself and dealer nuts. On their 3rd attempt they cured it by replacing the seat base.

I get the occasional rattle as the seats shimmy left and right after a bump in the road... more annoying is the third row rubber mat that traps itself under the seats in row 2 and make them squeak... stops as soon as you re-seat the chairs.

Gareth,
Mine has the same rear seat rattle, but I am not sure where it is coming from, but it is starting to bug both me and the wife.
So it must be bad if she is bothered by it!!
I will look into it further, any idea which seat to start with?
Nige.
Mines stopped ever since the quarry at Tixover
