Off to Bristol Transmissions Tue
Off to Bristol Transmissions on Tuesday to get my gearbox sorted once and for all. As the car is 9 years old I thought it would be wise to get the radiator replaced as after parting with so much money the last thing I want is a leak into the gearbox.
Lets hope its only the TC that needs to be replaced and not a full box rebuild, but will only know this after they have the TC out.
Who else has used Bristol Transmissions? How did you get on and do you think that they a honest enough to only replace what is really needed or will the just play it safe and rebuild the box anyway?Dale

i used them when I needed a recon D3 box a couple of years back, they seemed very good, shipped the box to the garage doing the job, the guys int he workshop said it looked like new, they hadn't seen a recon as clean and tidy, we shipped back the knackered box and they only ever took what was owed off my card... they seemed good people to do business with IMHO

I had my sump replaced by them and was impressed by what they did. Did seem very genuine - they've been doing it for a long time, so not fly by nights.
When I was last there, they were doing an old Jag - looked very nice!
As you know a bad reputation soon gets about!Mark.

Well yet again we are on the ferry to the UK (Should have bought shares in Irish Ferries), will be heading down the M4 to Reading this afternoon and then back up the M4 to Bristol early in the morning.Dale
