Is the wiper motor still turning? If so, then the nuts holding the arm to the spindle are either loose or the splines inside that bit of the wiper arm where it joins the spindle are worn away. Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

How would you recommend fixing it? If that is the case? 2016 D4 Landmark

Checking the nuts for tightness would be one way.
Before doing that however, with the wiper motor off, very gently (by milimetres) try to oscillate one of both wiper blades across the screen. If you feel no resistance, increase the pressure very gently. If the wiper doesn't come to a stop then the splines have probably stripped inside the wiper arms. If you feel resistance, stop or you'll strip the splines. Now check the nuts for tightness. If the splines are shot buy a new pair of wiper arms.
The wiper arms (spline section) are made of soft metal and the spindle upon which they sit is made of hardened steel. If your blades move as described above, it means that somehow the blades have been oscillated with the motor switched off or have been jammed when the motor was switched on (commonish fault when blades stuck to screen in heavy frost). It happened to me some time ago when the clown who changed a broken windscreen moved the blades from side to side for some reason whilst fitting the new screen Never take life too seriously. Or the wiper motor is gubbed !
Had it quite a few times with the FL2. Stripped it down clean the contact that were suffering from corrosion, then fired it all back together.
Eventually it needed replaced.
Hope it's the cheaper option above There is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes.
