Suspension lowering at speed

Question for the forum thoughts on modifying

As I understand on the D3 the suspension hunkers down at a certain speed, I think it's about 90 mph, is it possible to change that to a lower speed to make the vehicle more stable Question Or would it be more stable. What are the advantages of it?

the limit cant be changed and I think it lowers at just over 100mph

there is a mod that can overide this but I think its quite expensive £1000,s.

TFC can give you a good price i beleive Thumbs Up

I've never noticed any stability issues at all driving at high speed. Why do you want to lower it before LR have set it to lower ?

Maybe stability was the wrong wording. But obviously land rover feel that at a certain speed the D3 needs to be lowered, I can only assume it offers the vehicle something better Question that speed is in way excess of what I'm allowed to do on UK roads Rolling Eyes so what does the lowering offer and why was 90 or 100 as Dunc has pointed out been chosen. Maybe I just feel jealous of those porsche beetles with the tail fin that comes out at certain speeds.

The D3 lowers to a height between normal & access once the vehicle has been moving over 103mph for a period of time I can't remember Embarassed it will hold this height for as long as the vehicle remains over 80mph, there is no visual indication of height change.
you can have the Matzker suspension kit fitted which allows you to switch suspension modes but it doesn't give you the option of 'at speed' mode

LR engineers have found this a good deal harder to achieve than you might think. Here's a test mule:

Hi everybody,
According my manual:
It lowers when speed achived more than 160km/h (103mph) by 3cm (access level is -5cm)
It returns up when driving less than 130km/h (80mph) for more than xx (don't remeber) seconds.

I just thought I'd open up this thread again. There have been many technological advances for the D3 owner since this thread last saw the light of day. Is it now possible to have the suspension drop to race hight, without actually breaking the law to achieve it? I'm just curious so thought I'd ask.

you can drop the height of the car overall with an IID tool or similar. but there have been no changes to the cars logic on what speed the high speed change drops at.
