Warranty claims mapped out...
Makes for interesting reading....axle and suspension accounting for 43% of warranty claims..WD only provide new warranty cover for cars under 100k miles, and then up to a maximum of 130k.....
For comparison,a Toyota Land cruiser has an axle and suspension index of 12%....

WD cover up to 160k miles but after 130k it drops down to engine, gearbox & drivetrain only. Will be there in a couple of weeks.

Yeah,I was a bit pleasantly surprised to see that....
Another area says that Japanese and French are the most reliable.....I always thought French cars propped up these sort of tables,so was very surprised to see that too......
Tentatively started looking around for a replacement for the wife's 11 year old car at the moment....she likes the new Clio, but I said I'm not buying French.....might have to revise that statement

I think a lot of the reasons french cars are thought of as poor is they are cheap to start with and once they get a few owners down the line and a lot cheaper, servicing and repairs just dont get done, then they break down, but have to say I wouldnt buy french!

Wow that's bad considering the prehistoric chassis set up 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

The other thing is Warranty Direct lump the D3 and D4 together in their stats by the looks of it. That gives an unwarranted ( ) poor impression of the 4 IMO21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
Wish they'd break it down a bit more, TBH. Do they take account of the severity of any given failure in their percentages? For instance, how many of those "Axle & Suspension" failures are a diff or transfer box and how many are a simple CV joint or wheel bearing?Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

And how many of the claims are actual breakdowns, where the car cannot drive and needs recovery...My D3 Build Thread
