hi everybody,

last summer both egr valves Censored up and i replaced them as i thought that it is still not possible to blank them with a D3 MY08! Big Cry

but obviously there are some solutions available in the meantime! Thumbs Up

i replace my glowplugs yesterday an was surprised about the dirt everywhere resulting from the egr! Evil or Very Mad

now i definitely have to blank them!!! but have no overview what is exactly to do?!
for example the BAS EGR software patch!! do i just update my ecu and i can remove the egrs completely without any aditional modifications? or do the egr have to stay in place? do they have to work?

thx, martin

Do you have an IID tool or the BAS gizmo?
You need to blank of both egrs either with a shim at the bottom of the egr pipe (keeps the car looking standard) or but removing the pipe and blanking both the upper and lower parts.
You also need to remove the butterfly valve in the centre inlet manifold.

Once done, take a reading of your car and then send the file to BAS. They'll send a file back to you. Update it using the IID tool or the BAS gizmo and job done!

Of course, all this becomes irrelevant if you have a DPF as you need the EGRs to generate enough heat for regeneration of the DPF.

i have no dpf and only nanocom evolution!

so with the remaping the egrs will still work or are they "turned-off"!?

They are 'turned off' effectively although not quite that simple, Thumbs Up
