EAS repair KIt (Installed) some trouble (piston ring)
Hello
I've installed without big problems the x8r repair kit for my compressor.
No problem until de compressor was installed and operating. It appear a suspension fault and when I remove the compresor the metal ring that hole the plastic ring from the kit is unbound.
Pressed two times with a rubber hammer and a 16mm, the ring comes out when it begins to operate.
Try putting some Loctite on it and see if that will hold it in place. Seems strange that the ring on top of the piston is coming off, are you sure you pressed it on all the way so it sits flush (even) with the piston top?
FYI: I also used their kit to rebuild my air compressor piston ring and did not have any problems. All good.1998 Discovery LSE - Gold, 249,000+ miles, completely stock
