I've just had a new clutch fitted to my manual Disco 3 (08 plate). The guy who fitted it was recommended by a friend of a friend.
I've just been driving it about and managed to limp it home as whilst I was travelling along at 30mph, the gear stick started floating about and now isn't connected to anything!
Clearly the recommendation of mechanic wasn't the best here, but I'm fascinated to know what might have happened to have cause this?
Anyone any ideas and suggestions (other than choosing a better mechanic next time  )?

Same thing happened to me - clip on the lever had dropped off. Simple 5 min roadside fix by the man with the big yellow taxi I started off with nothing and Ive still got most of it left.
