Shortened Gear Stick?

The gear change on my manual D3, as on all the manual Discos, is a little bit.....ponderous.

I've found that by holding the stick lower down the shift quickens and feels a bit more precise. Has anyone been bold enough to chop the gear stick in order to lessen the throw between gears and make it feel a bit more accurate?

I have the same thoughts. Compared to the other cars in the household, the D3 gearstick throw is enormous. Freelander SE 2005 Auto.
D3 TDV6. Gone.

Compared to a Series II it is tiny. If you want to see HUGE try a 101! A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.
