Well can you believe it. After Admiral spoke to AutoGlas I had a call to say a Pilkington glass had been ordered and would be fitted as soon as I returned from holiday in Devon. True to their word a young guy arrived with a Pilkington windscreen and a Tech Trainer followed him and got it fitted within an hour and a half. They did a great job. Very surprised and very happy.

Having had four failed attempts by Autoglass to fit a mere side window glass to a V70 on my driveway, I did wince when I read that! From the original fitter leaving around half the glass from the original smashed glass inside the door (a lot of extra weight and a sound like a bag of broken glass being dropped every time that the door was shut), to having the fitter explain to me that "glass often comes with 2-3" gouges in it from the factory" (after he'd fitted it!).
It was only after the fifth visit to their depot that the fitters put in undamaged, non Micky Mouse, glass (their cheap glass was the wrong colour and wasn't even smoothly curved, it looked like a sail that hadn't quite filled with wind yet!) and got all of the broken glass vacummed out of the door

Having driven a D5 for the last few days, it's interesting to see that it'll no longer be the challenge to get quality Pilkington glass that it once was; Land Rover are now buying most of the OEM glass for it from China! That'll save them a few quid

They may well do, but these are branded as "Fuyao" (an independent Chinese glass manufacturer)

Can't be bad, Bentley use them along with a lot of other manufacturers. Most of production is in Ohio due to high costs in China 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Higher costs in China than USA
Maybe if Trump has slapped a 200%+ import tariff.
I do not have anything to back the figures up. Just find it surprising thats all.
