when i put the car in revers a beep is herd and the light on the parking sensor switch lights and the rear sensors work perfectly as do the fronts once reverse was selected but when i am driving forward say into a parking space and have not needed reverse the front parking sensors do not operate automatically under i have to press the switch to activate them is this normal, can they be set to come on automatically in setting i have a hse so they are factory fit.

I think yours are working fine Both front and rears are live once reverse has been selected or you manually turn them on. Otherwise they're both off.

Yep, it is the way the latter models work. I think I preferred the original automatic methodology but LR received complaints from owners about them going off in slow moving traffic and changed the logic.

Ah, is that why my 54 plate car's sensors are constantly going off despite being nowhere near anything? I presumed they were faulty.
My 54 plate beep when you slow down in traffic (prob to tell you they are now "live", then when you speed up they beep to presumable tell you they are off.
