I would have said....

Paint....
But after having my wheels re done over a year ago now at Wheel Specialist with powder coat...really satisfied.
However....
The whole thing about any paint system is the preparation....Wheel Specialist use chemical stripping & minute use of fine beads only when required....so the finish is like a new wheel.
I have seen the results of severe blasting (like the side of a volcano).... Not that good
So choose your place to use carefully...
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

had mine powder coated a 6 weeks ago so far so good . really pleased with the results. the wheels were acid dipped and media blasted. any kerbing damage was repaired. then powdercoated. I know of a few places that paint the wheels and they DA the surface of the wheel and scotch it up and repair damage, all with the tyre on (albeit off the front bead) then painted. obviously this way only colours the front face whereas powder coating colours the inside as well. for me it was a no brainer. I guess other places would paint the wheels inside and out.

I've used powder coating and paint in the past both with good results. Keep them clean with soapy water and polish with Poorboys wheel sealant - whatever you do don't use Wonder Wheels to clean them !

I'm still not decided what colour to do my wheels (gloss black possibly ) but I'm going to paint them, whatever colour I choose. There are several reasons for using paint as a finish. Cost is the primary reason though. Once painted, I'll look after them.
