Hi all, I know I am being a bit lazy here, I could spend hours and hours trolling the IOT but am still likely to miss the gems, hence I decided to suck up to my fellow Land Rover owners and hit you all up for a few suggestions. SWMBO and the bag carrier are coming to UK for 12 weeks or so (drop in middle May, nick off late August or there abouts) and are going to look at Wales, Ireland, Scotland and the mainland middle bit, errrr, Lakes District, so basically London upwards, we have previously done the bottom end. I know it's not half long enough but we work with what we have, and that's what we have.
What I would really appreciate is a few of those "gems", not to be missed things, that I am sure all of you have from your trips around. Can be things to see, places to go, places to stay, things to do, what ever has provided you with one of those "how good is this" moment, then I can try to weave it into the general plan. At this point I plan to buy a vehicle for all the running around (and sell it later) staying in B&Bs or little pubs but it's early in the planning process.
Found some fun things to do already, like the longest zip line in Snowdonia, going to try to do the Edinburgh Tattoo, have looked into doing the LR Experience day, and have a reasonable handle on some of the more well known attractions, castles, lakes and things but even then, some I am sure are a stand out.
I just figured that it was worth the question, and thanks for any suggestions.

Is that Iggy ? The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

The type of vehicle would affect the recommendations, for example, no one is going to recommend stratta florida if you are going to hire a Renault Clio.
OK fella... This thread could go on for years!
Route, time of year, rough timescales, budget and interests would all have an impact I guess. D3 07 SE - still going strong

Yeah fair enough point as I said do a lot of caravanning at home go away for weeks at a time free camping We are in to bush walking get out on the water a bit check out whatever sites there are in the areas that we go to. The history of things is of interest and you guys have got a lot to check out.
As far as a car is concerned let's say a small sedan size of a Honda Accord or something similar.
Fosters........nahhh....don't touch the stuff there's some really excellent beer, fosters is not on my list.
I did realise the size that this thread could become so I just thought that I'd let it run for a couple of days with just maybe one or two suggestions or two suggestions from a reply and we'll leave it at that.
I did do rough dates and a rough list of places we're going to go in the opening post but over there middle of May leaving middle of August more or less and basically trying to look north of London also Wales and Ireland.
Thanks

If you are going to Ireland then stop in Pembrokeshire before you catch the ferry. St Davids is lovely has a beautiful cathedral if you like that type of hing or there is a company called TYF who do coasteering trips which is great for thrill seekers. I've coasteered with them twice and been on kayaking trips twice.

a video to get your tastebuds going, this was with TYF
St Davids is just down from Fishguard so is ideally placed for the hop over to Ireland. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
