They fitted a new map sensor, not towed with it again yet going to take caravan out for a run to see what it does but I am not over confident that it's sorted. It will only do it when it is working hard can't get it to do it when solo, if it is still the same Brian is going to come out with me and caravan on the back with test book on his knee.

Been off again tis weekend just got back and it did it again on the same drag up the same hill, but only once all weekend, just as we got to the top (special programs off) and into limp mode, this is getting dangerous now a car nearly ran into the back of us, gave it some stick all the way home and no problems, we are away next weekend but going to use my freinds Showgun dont trust this Disco, do I bite the bullet and change the turbo and hope that this is the problem, I cant get it to do it all the time. Where is the best place to get a new turbo from?

Been away this weekend with caravan on the back, no really big hills a few on the A64 going to Pickering which did make it work a bit but no problems, did seem to loose speed a bit though but that could be me not giving it the beans as did not want engine warning or special programs off, one thing I have noticed is after it has done the turbo over boost fault for a mile or so it does seem to be down on power, then ok again.

Just looking at old threads and I read that trev 1 had a dodgy remap on the car that caused the overboost issue.
Be interesting to hear from him whether that was the sole cause? or whether any fault lay with the turbo.

Hi all don't come on here very often because Disco has gone, just to bring you up to date it was the map! Had Mike from Dynochip over to do a remap on it, he could not believe the map that Green Oval had put on it, needles to say I will never go to them again, they had increased the turbo boost by 25% he said it is a wonder it had not blown it's self to bits, once he had done a proper map it was spot on, so I put a new turbo on for nothing. Now running a 2062 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE and love it.

Thanks for that update, Trev. I wonder if it is possible to tell if there is a remap on a car using an iid tool?

Don't know, but it did my head in, Green Oval made a right balls of it, when I asked them after I found out what the problem was they said that they do a small remap to most of the cars they sell and never had a problem, but that did not help me. Didn't want to know.
