The following quote from the page hopefully explains everything:
Quote:
To support an appeal by the Lake Distict ranger for the National Trust covering Little Langdale, including the Tilberthwaite UCR which, as you’ll know, is a popular legal route with green laners. The route is suffering quite badly from erosion and, understandably in the current climate, the council feel unable to invest in any maintenance of the surface.
Unfortunately, the erosion is causing two of the historic stone walls to become unstable, and they’re at risk of collapse. This could cause a safety hazard to users, major stock management problems for our tenant farmers, damage to our historic environment, and cost many thousands of pounds to re-erect. The National Trust are planning to deal with this issue pro-actively and reinforce the eroded banks beneath the walls, in order to stop any further erosion – but they really do with your support. Help GLASS support the National Trust in keeping our Green Lanes open. The National Trust understand that vehicles have a legal right to use this route and do not wish to stop them. The work to repair this lane will cost in the region of £4000 in labour and transporting stone.

I've donated - I haven't driven this lane but certainly want to one day, so I need it to be open for me!

Just a small bump back up the list, they have already got 25% of the target
If you use green lanes or want to in the future this is a good cause to support, so any amount however small will help
A few photos from the lane in question, it has to have some of the best views of any green lane

Well that didn't work Euan, I used a different version of it in the end.
As a thumbnail in my gallery it is on its side, but I edited and rotated and saved and it looked ok but wont display the right way up
