After getting screwed over by warranty direct decided to service the old girl myself. Long time since I was on the tools and much harder lying on your back. Did feel good when job was done, changed the battery as well. Had really good service from AF for the service parts and Tanya for the battery

I'm no oily rag, but decided to do the front pads myself to save a few quid. With kit from AF and a freshly printed Bodsys Brake bible in hand, I set to work this morning.
Success - the car still stops - I did manage to crack the brake sensor though, whilst trying to remove it. But its back on and no warnings, so assume its ok. Was actually fairly easy, most tricky part was retracting the caliper pistons - I didn't have a retraction tool, so just used some wood and a G clamp - fiddly. Will invest in the proper tool next time.MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff

This weekend, Ive replaced the Discovery bonnet badge with another one, but this time its not wonky,
and Ive also spray painted the top lip of my head lights , my lights seemed to be going a yellowish tint from sunburn, i tried all sorts to fix it, but in the end i decided to just tidy them up with some good old matt black paint,
and Ive had the leaking air con joint fixed and the air con recharged !
beofre it was fixed,

Mine has survived 3 changes of pads even though its only held together by the wire
Always used a g clamp, didn't think about there being a proper tool, and for what they cost i think i'll be adding one to the armory.==================================

I could have cried with joy. After over an hour of poking, i finally released the clips for the air bag on the wheel. Most excited ive been since i drilled out a snapped bolt on an old bike! (Seized bolts and being unable to fix them have been a sticky subject for many years.
Ive now had the wheel off and swapped for a flappy paddle one! 4x4 Phase:

Washed, clay barred, polished with Ultimate Compound, polished with AG Ultra Deep Shine and waxed! I'm cream crackered now, but the old girl scrubs up reasonably well.
