what did i do to disco today

Got to drive the disco 3 for a couple of hours,as its the wifes.
Leaking passenger side floor, smokes in traffic, and always something going wrong ( just changed battery)
Wife expects something to go wrong every time she goes to it.
I absolute love the 11 year old 155k on clock beast.Owned for almost two years now.
Dont know why exactly, but when you go through this forum, you realise your not alone,
Someone please sum up this passion for me.

I managed to pick up a bolt in the front tyre, again Evil or Very Mad so it's of to the tyre centre tomorrow. It looks like it will just be a repair.

Tyre now all repaired, £25 at local tyre centre. Interesting the put the car in off road height, tailgate open and hazards on even though my local LR dealer don't do it.

Fitted a new alternator with the help of my sons friend who's a land rover tech (very useful!) - Thanks Andy, no battery symbol now Very Happy

Now thinking of fitting a dual battery setup Laughing

When doing this and having a general poke around discovered that the when the previous owner had the EGR valves replaced the garage didn't do the clip up properly on the left hand one Shocked - but now done and the area cleaned up nicely Very Happy

Today I made drawers for the Discovery. Since I drive a Commercial I've plenty of space. I just don't use the hight enough.
I made this out of old cabinet drawers and some leftovers plywood.
The only thing left to do is put a fabric over it, so it blends in.

Replaced my coolant expansion tank.

Started in the evening in the dark with a little drizzle. Turned into a full out pour while doing the work. I continued, was not giving up lol.

The only hard part I found was removing the lower rubber tube. Putting the tubes back went in well after I put a little silicone grease over the plastic tank connections. Took around a half hour max and a happy very wet man when I finished.
