Callipers !
Is it common for the brake callipers to go rusty on the D4. We have a 14 plate D4 that went for its first service last week, reported it and the service manager told me its just one of those things..... they are starting to look a little s t for a £40k car

One thing that makes em worse is the drive in ex petrol station car wash places... They use harsh chemicals on the slloys which reacts sith the calipersIf it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

Yes they look very cruddy on mine.
In fact, its going in on Monday because the left front is binding again, and the disc has warped. Should be an interesting conversation, as I changed the pads myself, and they are 50% worn now, so who pays for the new pads it will need when they replace the discs (under warranty I hope)?
But yes, paint them, and the disc centres. Especially if you have gloss black wheels like me!

Mine at three+ years old look new.
Once every couple of months I give the alloys a bit of tlc. After a quick blast with the pressure washer I spray the wheels liberally with Valet Pro Bilberry Juice and leave for a couple of minutes before working on the wheels with a detailing brush, and then a final blast from the pressure washer to clean up. So the calipers would be coated for about 20 minutes with the juice.MY12 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand
