Alarm driving me nuts!
So for the past day or so my discovery has decided its going to set the alarm off at random intervals (approx 5 times). Doesn't make any difference if i single or double lock it. Leave it single locked, all doors/tailgate/bonnet shut properly, and it just goes off!
One thing i have noticed is that on two occasions, I have unlocked it and the small display screen within the dash says that there is low battery. Drove about 250 miles yesterday - so not sure about this!
Could my battery be on the way out? Could this cause the alarm to do funny things?

Low battery can play havoc with anything and everything. Maybe worth giving but a full charge first, at least to eliminate it.

My alarm has gone off at random times too, sometimes after the bonnet being opened. Cleaning the bonnet catches helped, for a while.
Dealer looked and said no issues with those but the battery back-up unit was faulty and a new one would be ordered, but as that was around October or November they clearly haven't bothered and if it goes off now I just leave it unlocked (yes, I know that's stupid, but past caring now).Andy

I'd go with bonnet catch/ switch.
Mine was going off sporadically and I put it down to the battery. But I changed that recently and it would still go off randomly.
Then I was heading off somewhere and got the bonnet open warning.
(I ignored the warning, set off, and when I arrived, the warning wouldn't let me keyless lock the car.
So it's worth knowing how to lock it manually )
After lubing the catches, the alarm has been okay.

Clearly not a great position to be in. If it is beyond your patience to resolve would it not be better to get the alarm disabled (it is an editable parameter in the vehicle's CCF) so that you can at least lock the vehicle at all times?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Thanks for that Robbie, I shall look into that (as didn't know I could) as I know things can't go on and not happy with my LR dealer, but have now found an independent.Andy

There may even be a sponsor or member that could adjust the CCF for you, but ideally the cause if the issue needs to found and fixed.

Thanks again Robbie, being stuck in the back of beyond doesn't help with site sponsors (or choice of LR dealers either). Woody32 is my nearest but when I last spoke with kris he wasn't able to help with the D4.
I have been thinking about getting my own diagnostic tool since finding this great site and getting my D4, so really I just need to get my finger out!Andy

Kris has an IIDTool Pro which has D4 capability, but yes, owning your own tool can be very handy too.
