Central Locking - locking/Unlocking all doors at once
Hi All,
Sorry if this has been covered but I tried the search function without success.
I would like all my doors to unlock and lock with one push of the remote key button (fob?). Is it possible to set this. Currently oone push opens the drivers door and a second opens the rest of the doors.
Thank you.

I *think* you press both the lock and unlock buttons at the same time whilst near the vehicle and it changes the setting...
It is covered in the manual somewhere!

Well the icon that shows your vehicle under your user name is still missing.
Being a later D3 the ECU software mentioned above will be up to date.
You can change the central locking security function by either a suitable diagnostic tool or by following the procedure in the handbook:
Quote:
Single-point entry
This is a personal security feature, which
enables only the driver's door to be unlocked,
leaving the other doors in a locked state.
Single-point entry can be disabled on individual
remote control keys, by pressing and holding
the lock and unlock buttons together for three
seconds.
All doors will now unlock with a single press.
Repeating the procedure will re-enable single
point entry.
Each time single-point entry is enabled or
disabled, the vehicle will lock then unlock into
the selected mode.
Would I turn this security feature off in SA....
...probably not.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Thank you. I will try and fix the missing icon.
Im not sure what you are referring to or whats your experience on SA. I can tell you in SA or any other place where this sort of thing happens; if they are planning to rob/hijack you or anything else they usually would not be waiting for all the doors to unlock. The driver is the target and in SA it usually involves a gun so having the passenger doors locked or not is not going to help anyway and is a total waste of time in 99% of the cases.
Either way, all doors open or locked, if someone points a gun at me, I will hand over the keys and wave goodbye and then go shopping for a replacement the next day.
BTW, SA is not as bad as the media makes out, yes we do have crime and when we do it usually involves violence which the media love to report on, but for example, I have never directly been affected by crime in SA (thankfully) but while visiting the UK on my one and only visit, I was held up in a street, by a bunch of kids yielding a knife acting all big deal trying to bully me into submission while people around me ran away with their tails between their legs......fortunately for me and unfortunately for them they didnt realise the disadvantage they were at and soon were scurrying off licking their wounds, and probably crying to their degenerate parents!
Back on topic, thank you for the advice, I will definitely try that again as I did not hold the buttons for 3 seconds.

Glad it worked and I see you got your profile sorted too.
My experience of SA is limited but I take your point regarding the prevalence of firearms. It is the only 'peacetime' country I have ever worked in where our hosts recommended that we armed ourselves when working with them in certain areas. The security briefs and personal experience of the chaps we were working with were quite staggering.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Yes some people do recommend that you take excessive precaution in certain areas and I bet you were charged for that info and those precautions - and no matter where you were recommending you were armed is probably the worst advice you could have received. Like in any country you will get your good areas and bad.
I do think that the reports on crime are blown out of proportion and the entire country is painted with the same brush. I blame the media for this but I am also not saying we dont have a problem with crime, so dont get me wrong, im just saying it is mostly exaggerated.... and we are not all walking around armed with weapons ready for battle.
There are also a lot of so called wise old sea dogs that put the fear of god into visitors to South Africa and mostly for no reason or to take advantage of you by charging you for all sorts of things that are not needed........ Its mostly all sensationalism.
As in any country in the world, be aware of your surroundings, dont trust anyone, dont travel into areas blindly and be careful what you flash around as there is always the possibility of that opportunistic crook willing to take advantage.
