Blanking off EGRs TDV6SE 2005 model

I have read much on this topic. I wonder if anybody knows whether EGRs were installed on the Disco 3 TDV6SE 2005 models which were made in South Africa. Alternate question, other than stripping down as per the very useful how to article in this forum, is there any way for me to ascertain whether my model has EGRs or not?

Perhaps have a look under the bonnet? The user guides have pictures so you will know where to look and what to look for. Thumbs Up

EGR Blanking

Well I did it i.e. managed to blank off the EGRs thanks to help from this site and the suppliers guide. Definitely a task more suited to an octopus than a human!

It's not easy trying to get the bolts out without them landing down onto the sump plate, not the worse job and for the price of blanking plates it well worth it on the early models.

The right hand side is easy enough. The left is a pain but with something to slide the gasket and blanking plate down and a grease filled socket, it's quite manageable. Thumbs Up

Never used gaskets on mine, thin smear of silicone sealant, use it all the time on exhausts at work.

The gaskets should already be there?
