Here we go on another meandering through the dark recesses of "I wonder....."
Has anyone removed not just the cowl but the side rails from the LR rack? The rails don't seem to serve much of a purpose except to make the whole affair look a little ungainly.
Thoughts?I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I have done so! it does look rather cool, although currently its in my cellar. I will be fitting it for the Peaks weekend, and it will be fitted for Billing.
It does make it less obtrusive, and quieter, but it still makes a fair roar at motorway speeds and saps the fuel.

Penguin has removed side rails from the middle to the back to allow his roof tent to be fitted - looks good
