Moving roof tracks - do I need thread adhesive? |
|
Hi all,
I want to move the roof tracks from my disco to a friends - he is buying them off me.
Do I need to coat the threads in any special thread ahesive or glue to fit them or just bolt them on?
Thanks for any assistance. '11 SDV6 Discovery 4

Kev, if it's something that you intend to keep there permanantly, I would use a thread lock. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Thanks guys.
I can confirm there was some sort of blue coloured substance covering the threads when I purchased the part - I imagine this was the thread adhesive.
Any ideas which brand or type is best for this application? Seeing as the centre fixing on one side was useless (just turned and turned without getting any grip in the roof - I think a thread was faulty from the factory on the roof track fixing) it makes sense to fix them as well as possible.....
