Superb. Lucky woody pecker by the sounds of it.
I once saw a weasel kill a rabbit. Viscous little things.

That is an amazing picture, Weasels are one of those creatures that very few people have ever seen in the flesh. That picture really puts their size into perspective. Seeing green woodpeckers isn't that common either.
We had a weasel chasing and then having a bundle with a mouse on our drive, terrier was outside and caught the mouse but the Weasel was long gone.

Whats stopping you Robbie? Have you thought of private flying? I have been thinking of doing my PPL.

I do have a PPL somewhere, but I have not exercised it since about '97 and have not flown light aircraft regularly since the late '80s. Cost and boredom put me off but I must admit that my thoughts keep turning to gliding. It's different enough and a new skill to learn but without the expense of private flying. I should actually get off my and look into it, especially as my daughter fancies giving it a go.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

I had a ride in a glider a few years ago. I sat in the front and the pilot asked me if I wanted a nice long smooth flight, and get to do some thermals, or would I prefer a shorter, faster flight with some aerobatics. I chose the later, and it was the best ride of my life!

Vicious horrible little b d's, I can almost guarantee the woodpecker will have died for all its efforts to escape. Pity it wasn't a shotgun he used instead of a camera It can when others can't,

For how long? - I've seen them bite rabbits and full grown hens exactly the same as the woodpecker, it can take several hours for them to die a slow lingering death, once they've sunk their fangs into the back of their preys neck they will die, it seems to semi-paralyse them, the weasel will watch it from a distance and keep playing "cat and mouse" with it.It can when others can't,

Only going by the photographers observations tbh
