Just fitted wintrac tyres onto my spare 19" rims (thanks to AJS) but my tpms valves aren't be my recognised by the car.
This is either due to me having bought some naff valves from eBay or I need to do something else.
The valves claim to be genuine Land Rover ones but guess they might be dodgy.
Anyone any experience of doing the same? The car is a MY14 one.
Cheers

On my MY2015 I put my spare set of wheels on and fitted 5 valves which I brought from another member on here, when they were fitted they worked straight away and I didn't need to change anythingCheers Ian

I believe there is a process you have to go through to 'pair' the TPMS valves with your display device. Check the manual :thumb-sup

Like I said mine worked without having to do anything, all I can see in the manual is the following

I sold the TPMS valves to Hairy Dan, having bought two sets for what was then a reasonable price. They had been taken from 2014 wheels with delivery mileage miles only, this was back in March/April.
These valves are smaller and have a different part number to the earlier model. Sturge, I wonder if perhaps you have this earlier type of valve and the system isn't picking them up.
Did your D4 come with a full size spare from the factory? I'm led to believe that the TPMS is factory configured for either 4 or 5 rims. So you could have one too many or few valves fitted.
Can't think of anything else, but have a read through my original post on this subject, link below:.

I know this is not the same sensor units but it may perhaps help the thinking ??
4. INSTALLATION
4.1 Install and register the sensors
Sensors are interchangeable and can be registered to any of the 22 possible wheel
positions. Once sensors are registered, the display only shows data from the registered
positions.
The following procedure registers the sensors as they are installed. If preferred, they can
be registered without installing them on the vehicle; see the alternative registration
procedure described on the next page.
1. Label each sensor to identify its position. The numbers can be recorded here:
2. In standby mode, press and hold the CODE button for 3 seconds. Release it after
the beep to enter coding mode. A flashing tyre icon is displayed. If no sensor is
registered to this position, the letters FFF FFF are shown. If a sensor is already
registered, the sensor ID is shown.
3. Press the + or – button to select the desired tyre position.
4. Screw the sensor onto the tyre valve using the security tool as shown. The system
allows different types of sensor to be specified. If appropriate, instructions for
alternative sensors are detailed in supplementary sheets.
5. As it senses the air pressure, the sensor sends its ID code to the monitor. The
monitor beeps and stores the tyre position with that sensor ID. If it does not
register within a few seconds, unscrew the sensor and try again.
6. Press + or – buttons to select the other tyres and repeat for all the tyres that are
to be monitored.
Spoke to AJS and they cannot code as their kit doesnt do the 2014MY.
LR Dealer said sometimes the id codes need to be manually entered - so bracing for that to be done on Weds morning. Other than that I have faulty (or wrong) sensors. Sounds like they may be different for 2014MY cars from what you are saying.
If so I will have to get the new sensors and refit the tyres, and be bent over by the LR Dealer!
Trouble is, no one at the parts desk really seemed to know what I needed for my car and wheel combo, and they didnt have stock, so got them online...

The 2014 valves are definitely smaller in size and have a different LR part number. I had to buy two sets, the first of which I bought from TLO who told me this. OE LR wheels have a space/recess where both types of valve fit.
I think you first need to establish what valve type you have and if it's the older (bigger) version will they work on a 2014 D4 ( I don't think that they do )
You don't need to remove the tyre to replace the valve, my tyre shop just broke the bead by the valve.

Although that is a picture of what I purchased (and the picture said this is a picture of the product you are purchasing), the ID numbers written down don't match those in this photo - I have ID numbers 0C39F091 , 0C39F096, 0C39F0AD, 0C39F119 which arent the ID as shown in the picture!
I cant recall the shape of the ones that I received now I come to think about it. If I was a betting man I would say they weren't this shape...
Question is do I waste the money and go to dealer and program the IDs or do I just buy a new set of valves from Yeovil and get AJS to fit them and then send these back - probably be cheaper but only if that is really the problem!
Votes please....TDV6 HSE Lux (2014MY)

They look a different shape to the ones one my OE and winter wheels - mine are part number LLR031712.
Hope that helps.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Been to the dealer for my first 12-month service yesterday. There is a TPMS recall for my MY14 D4. The sensors have to be replaced with a new version and TPMS module reprogrammed.
I remember references on this forum of people getting occasional TPMS errors (as I do); some of them had to select heavy load and inflate their tires and then go back to light load to correct that. After my dealer visit I have all tires showing wrong pressures! They said they haven't touched the TPMS system at all, however I had only have only two tire pressure notifications in the past. Now the @@@! thing is constantly on! Waiting for the new valves now.
Worth checking with your dealer, people!

I got 4 x rims complete with valves of fleabay. When fitted (MY14) they just 'worked'.
Also, FWIW, the JLR TPMS valves/sensors are apparently common (ie interchangeable) with Ford and Volvo (made by Ford).
popped into the dealer and they spent 2 hours farting about with it and announced it was done. Drove up the road a mile, and the warning came back. Finally left after another 2 hours, and the dealer scratching his head. They are struggling to get a update installed and the sensors working.
Booked back in next week...TDV6 HSE Lux (2014MY)
