DPF question
Hi, I'm loving my new D4 but I have a question: I work in London so 5 days per week I drive 2.8 miles to the train station and 2.8 miles back in the evening. I'm worried about the DPF and battery under these conditions so what's the best course of action? Should I just take it for a blast every weekend to charge the battery and give the DPF a chance to recycle? How long will it take for the DPF to become clogged under these circumstances?
Also, can I use the park heating if I keep an eye on battery level or will it make things worse?

Batteries are best topped-up with a charger rather than a drive. You may need the occasional longer journey for the DPF to do a full re-gen. If your dash has not warned you yet then I wouldn't worry. Only change your strategy if it becomes a problem.
Some diagnostic tools will give you the state of the DPF, so that is an option to help manage the situation if your low usage becomes an issue.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Hi, I do a similar mileage, just gets used more at the weekends ! Not had any problems, the DPF regen has kicked in about every 1000 miles.
I don't have the park heat but it won't come on if your battery isn't healthy enough.Velar MY18 D180 S Narvik

search for CTECK chargers.
i occasionally have short journey times so keep battery topped up with one of these and with the gadgets to allow simple connection there will be no grubby hands!
the DPF will sort itself out, you'll hear a deeper exhaust note when its doing its thing.XC90 T8 R Design Pro
